The neighborhood

Living in Seamount

In the mid-1960s, Scotmist Drive, Lochvale, King Arthur Court, Quailhill Drive and Firthridge were known as Stoneridge. A 1965 realty advertisement listed Stoneridge Manor alongside the R. A. Watt company. That year Watt proposed a temporary helicopter pad just north of Buffspring Road, since renamed Armaga Spring Road. By 1967 Stoneridge neighbors had their own social club. Today the city's Neighborhood Watch map uses the name Seamount for the western streets around Seamount and Doverridge drives.

Along Armaga Spring Road near Highridge Road, Armaga Springs opened as apartments in the late 1960s and became about 98 condominiums after a 1974 conversion. Wallace Ranch, about 82 houses built from about 1990, is named for the radio antenna farm that amateur radio operator Don Wallace once kept on Highridge Road.
