Building outlines © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) · basemap and satellite tiles © Esri. Business positions come from each business's Google Maps listing. A few businesses without their own Google pin sit beside a neighbor at the same address; those carry a dashed pin and an “approx.” tag. Businesses open, close and move, so call ahead before a special trip.

Parking, addresses and the neighbors
Parking
A free public lot sits in the middle of the plaza, next to the Neptune Fountain. There are more lots by the Malaga Cove Library (Via Campesina) and by City Hall on Via Corta, with diagonal spaces there, and street parking along Via Tejon, Via Chico and Via Corta. A private multi-level garage serves 2516 Via Tejon. Check the posted signs for time limits.
Reading an address
Numbered Malaga Cove Plaza addresses (1 to 77) account for 22 of the businesses. Two office buildings on Via Tejon, 2516 and 2550, hold 24 more, most of them in numbered suites. That includes the post office at 2516 Via Tejon, Ste 102. The rest are elsewhere on Via Tejon or on Tejon Place, Via Chico and Via Corta.
The civic neighbors
The plaza is the civic heart of Palos Verdes Estates as well as its village. The Malaga Cove Library (2400 Via Campesina) and City Hall (340 Palos Verdes Dr W) are next door, and both are labeled on the map once you zoom in. So are the Neptune Fountain and the small parks around the plaza.
Malaga Cove Art on the Lawn
Artist groups from the Palos Verdes Art Center hold Malaga Cove Art on the Lawn shows on the plaza lawn, at the entrance to Palos Verdes Estates on Palos Verdes Drive West between Via Chico and Via Corta. Admission is free, with free parking. Dates are posted on the Palos Verdes Art Center's site and on our events calendar.
Next season
The 2026 season wrapped up with the October 10–11 show. Next year's dates will be on the Art Center's upcoming events page.
A 1920s plaza, still the city's front door
Malaga Cove Plaza was built by the Palos Verdes Project, the 1920s development that became Palos Verdes Estates. Its Mediterranean buildings went up in two waves, in the 1920s and again from 1950, and the plaza is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
- 1925
Casa Primera opens
Work on the Gardner Building, the plaza's first commercial building, begins in 1924. It opens Sept 13, 1925, designed by Webber, Staunton & Spaulding.
- 1930
Neptune arrives
The fountain, a copy of Giambologna's Neptune, is installed. The Palos Verdes Project bought it for $1, and it later passed to the city.
- 1950–63
The second wave
Building resumes in 1950: the Starr Building (1950, George Morlan), Davis Building (1952), Security First National Bank Building (1957, Carrington H. Lewis), Woodcock Building (1959), Towle Building (1961, the plaza's first three-story building) and Medical Plaza Building (1963, J.V. Ouzounian), now 36 Malaga Cove Plaza.
- 2021
