Building outlines © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) · basemap and satellite tiles © Esri. Place positions are Palos Verdes Life's own, matched to the school's map and the district's site plan. Points inside the main building are approximate: they show the wing, not the door, and carry a dashed pin and an “approx.” tag. Campus details can change, so confirm with the school office.
In on Cloyden, out on Epping
Morning drop-off, 7:30–8:30 a.m.
- Enter campus from Cloyden Road (the main vehicle entrance at the north end).
- Follow the drive past the front lot and down the one-way road along the west side.
- Leave on Epping Road.
The school doesn't mark a drop-off zone, so let students out along the drive and keep the line moving. The school's parking page says employees are encouraged to enter at the service-road entrance on Epping Road.
Visitors
Every visitor checks in at the Main Office, in the admin wing beside the front parking lot, and parks in the designated visitor spaces. The school doesn't publish which stalls those are, so the front lot nearest the office is your best bet.
Need disabled parking? Show your DMV placard and registration to the nurse and the administration.
Student parking
- A parking permit is required. Spaces are first come, first served, and a permit doesn't guarantee one. When the lots fill, students park off campus.
- Carpool spaces are in the front lot. Students can't go to their cars during the school day.
- From 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., students and parents can't park in staff or reserved spaces, in the areas by the gym or in the staff spaces of the back lot, per the school's parking page. (Its 2024–25 permit form gives 6:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. for the gym area; follow the posted signs.)
- The on-campus speed limit is 7 mph. A replacement permit is a $10 donation at the Student Store. Check the current permit form for the suggested donation.
When the lots are full
The school lists Cloyden Road, Via Pacheco and Epping Road for street parking, but its parking page adds that the south side of Cloyden Road and Paseo Del Mar are now restricted (resident permit zone). It also lists public parking at the Lunada Bay Little League field and along Palos Verdes Drive West and Via Coronel. The resident-permit streets around campus are off-limits.
Palos Verdes Estates police school-zone rules: 25 mph when children are present. Load and unload only at white curbs, without waiting. No double parking. Respect the resident-permit-only zones. See the PVE Police school-zone guide (PDF).

The school's own map, and how ours was made
The PVHS Library draws the school's official campus map. It's a hand-drawn schematic, not to scale, and turned so Cloyden Road runs down the left side. Ours is north-up and drawn over real building outlines, which makes it easier to match to street signs and to your phone's map.
We don't copy the school's map. Here are the originals:
- Official campus map from PVHS (PDF), 2024–25, made by the PVHS Library
- The same map as an image (PNG)
- PVHS maps & directions page
- District site plan for PVHS (PVPUSD Facilities Master Plan)
How we placed things
Building outlines come from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). We matched the school map's labels to the district's site plan, which is pinned to real coordinates, and to those outlines. Separate buildings such as the gym, pool, fields and the 500s and 600s are placed by their outline. Offices and rooms inside the main building share one outline, so their pins mark the right wing, not the exact door. Those are tagged approximate.
The district's 2017 facilities plan proposed a new gym and media center at PVHS. Neither is confirmed as built, and the school's 2024–25 map still shows the original layout. Measure SOS bond projects may change the campus, and we'll update this page when they do.
