Eastview
Eastview is the strip of Rancho Palos Verdes along Western Avenue where the city meets San Pedro, reaching from Summerland Street north nearly to Palos Verdes Drive North. Most of its roughly 2,340 homes went up while this was unincorporated county land, beginning with Mira Vista just after World War II and running through the 1970s. The city annexed Eastview on January 5, 1983.

Living in Eastview
Several neighborhood names are still in everyday use. Rolling Hills Riviera, around Avenida Aprenda, Montereina Drive and Redondela Drive, was already appearing under that name in real estate ads in 1966. Peninsula Verde sits at the north end against the Lomita city line, and in both neighborhoods residents park on the street by city decal. East of Western Avenue are the single-family Strathmore streets and the Strathmore Townhomes. The Courtyards, La Pointe and the Eastview Townhouse are the area's other townhome and condominium communities.
Eastview Park, about 10 acres on Westmont Drive, sits on county sanitation district land that the city leases for park use, and it now has a dog park. Along Western Avenue are The Terraces shopping center, the largest commercial center in Rancho Palos Verdes (not the Rolling Hills Estates townhome neighborhood of the same name), and Westmont Plaza. Green Hills Memorial Park, a cemetery since 1948, also came into the city with the annexation. Eastview addresses carried San Pedro's 90732 ZIP code until the city won 90275 for nearly all of Eastview in the early 1990s (a few addresses, such as Brett Place, still use 90732), and the area joined the Palos Verdes Library District in 1987.
