Living in Silver Arrow
In April 1964 the county's Regional Planning Commission approved a Grandview Building Co. plan to divide 165 acres north of Silver Spur Road and west of Crenshaw Boulevard into 457 single-family lots, an expansion of the company's Grandview Palos Verdes development. The Grandview name lives on in one neighborhood group on the city's grant list, Grandview Silver Arrow HOA. Another group there is called Blackhorse.
The city places the area in its Peninsula Center road district, and real estate listings use the Peninsula Center name too. Its Neighborhood Watch area is Blackhorse/Warrior Longhill. The streets are public, and the neighborhood is not gated.
About 35 homes on Browndeer Lane and Elkridge Drive, on a tract recorded on August 25, 1964, are across the city line in Rolling Hills Estates.
Rolling Hills Estates' own Peninsula Center guide covers the condominiums in that city's commercial district.
