Living in Rolling Hills Park Estates
The city annexed the Rolling Hills Park Estates, Hillcrest Manor and Hillcrest Meadows areas between 1960 and 1966, years before most of the homes were built. Highridge Park, a 10.5-acre city park at Highridge and Crestridge roads, has two soccer fields, a youth ball field, picnic areas, a playground, about a mile of running track with exercise stations, and a multi-use trail.
On July 8, 2023, land movement on Peartree Lane in the gated Rolling Hills Park Villas forced the evacuation of a dozen townhomes, and ten began sliding into the canyon below. A preliminary report for the city and county named the unusually heavy rain of the 2022–23 winter as the main cause. The homeowners association has since worked to stabilize the slope.
