Living in Larga Vista
Newspaper features in 1956 and 1957 described homes set high above a crescent of coastline. They had three or four bedrooms, hardwood floors, sliding glass doors, built-in kitchen appliances, forced-air heat and a radio intercom. Buyers were told to take Palos Verdes Drive North to the water storage reservoir and turn at the Larga Vista signs. The Palos Verdes Reservoir still sits just north of the neighborhood.
Residents had formed the Larga Vista Property Owners' Association by 1957, and a Larga Vista HOA is on the city's 2021–2029 Housing Element list of homeowners associations. Larga Vista was not part of Rolling Hills Estates when the city incorporated in 1957; the city's 1992 General Plan lists it among later annexations.
