Eastfield
Eastfield takes its name from Eastfield Drive and the Eastfield Gate, where the drive meets Palos Verdes Drive East on the eastern side of the gated city of Rolling Hills. About 140 homes sit along the drive and the roads that branch from it, among them Outrider, Wideloop, Open Brand and Hackamore. Rolling Hills was created in 1936 by A.E. Hanson and the Palos Verdes Corporation.

Living in Eastfield
Eastfield Drive is one of the city's five main collector roads. The 1990 General Plan describes it as more winding and steeper, with shorter sight lines, than Portuguese Bend Road or Crest Road. Like every road in Rolling Hills it is private, and the Rolling Hills Community Association keeps it up and staffs the gate around the clock. Riders on the community's bridle trails check in with the gate staff when they enter here, and city zoning sets a one-acre minimum lot size.
