Crest Road
Crest Road runs along the top of the Palos Verdes Hills through the upper part of gated Rolling Hills. About 95 homes sit on it and on Cinchring Road, the Quail Ridge roads and Spur Lane. The Crest Gate on Crest Road West is one of the city's three staffed entrances. The area lies within the community A.E. Hanson and the Palos Verdes Corporation began in 1936.

Living in Crest Road
The Palos Verdes Corporation let the contract for Crest Road in May 1931 as a private road along the crest of the hills. In 1932 it put gatehouses at both ends of the eleven-mile route, both long since torn down. Inside Rolling Hills the road is still private, one of five main collector roads kept up by the Community Association. The 1990 General Plan called the western entrance the Crenshaw Gate; the Association now calls it the Crest Gate.
In 2024 the Rancho Palos Verdes city geologist reported slow creep of up to 0.7 inch a week around Cinchring and Quail Ridge roads, and in mid-September utilities cut service to dozens of Rolling Hills homes. The Los Angeles Times reported that the affected homes are outside the Flying Triangle landslide area. The city posts news on its Land Movement Updates page.
