About Tract 7143
The Mirlo Gate Lodge Tower stands on a strip of city parkland in this tract on Via Valmonte. It was built in 1925 or 1926 as a gatehouse for the city's east entrance and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

Valmonte, Palos Verdes Estates
Valmonte is the eastern zone of Palos Verdes Estates, along Palos Verdes Drive North and Via Valmonte where the city meets Torrance. Its main tracts were recorded in 1923 and 1924, and the Palos Verdes Project, planned by the Olmsted Brothers, advertised it as inland high ground overlooking the metropolitan area, the mountains and the sea. It has about 1,210 homes.
