The neighborhood

Living in Academy Hill

Academy Drive leads to Chadwick School, and the same blog says the neighborhood was built on land the school owned until the late 1960s. In his history of Rolling Hills, A.E. Hanson writes that about a year after the school opened, it bought the 70 acres between its hilltop campus and Palos Verdes Drive from the Palos Verdes Corporation for $150 an acre. The County lists the area with Westfield as its Westfield/Academy Hills community. In 2010 the blog described a voluntary homeowners association with $50 yearly dues.
